Suzanne M.Woodruff, 89, of Ottawa passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at Ottawa Pavilion Nursing Home. A Memorial Service will be 10:00 am Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Kim Glenn officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Suzanne was born, January 20, 1925 in Roudouallec, France. After World War II she moved to New York City to pursue the American Dream. While she was married to Joseph B. Woodruff, she lived in Belmar, NJ, and then moved to Ocean Grove, NJ to operate the Woodruff Guest House. Suzanne, with her two daughters, resided in Lyndhurst, NJ from 1966, until her retirement from being a waitress in 1985. She enjoyed working as a Belmar Beach Attendant for ten years while residing in Wall Township, NJ. Suzanne lived at Kingston Residence, in Marion, Ohio before moving to Heritage Woods in Ottawa, Illinois. She is survived by two daughters, Rose Marie Woodruff of Rutherford, NJ, and Nancy (Ed) Yates of Ottawa; three grandchildren, Erin, Nikki, and Jimmy Yates; along with extended family in America and France. There will also be a Celebration of Suzanne's Life hosted by her daughters in New Jersey at a later date In lieu of flowers the family would like the donor to perform an act of kindness in Suzanne's Memory.
