Susan Travi

Susan Travi, 104, of Ottawa journeyed home on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 noon Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Rev. Augustine Kassa officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 to 12:00 noon Wednesday prior to Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church; burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Susan was born August 7, 1910 in Ottawa, Illinois to Arthur and Mary (Rossiter) Barrett. Susan and Hugh Travi were united in holy matrimony at St. Columba Catholic Church in Ottawa, Illinois and enjoyed 63 beautiful years of marriage. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, and Altar and Rosary Society. She loved the outdoors. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and found the good in people. She is survived by four children, John (Mary) Travi of Ottawa, Mary ann (Herman) Eutis of Ottawa, James (Jean) Travi of Amboy, IL., and Susan (Martin) MacDonald of Ottawa; one daughter-in-law, Carol Travi of Versailles, KY; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Hugh (in 2000); one son, Joseph Travi; two brothers, Thomas and John Barrett; and two sisters, Vera Mills and Frances Anderson. Pallbearers will be Michael Travi, Cheri Griffin, John Travi, Scott Travi, Mary ann Eutis, Kevin Mattingly, James Travi, Matthew Travi, Susan MacDonald, Ryan MacDonald, and Erin MacDonald-Reinhart.
