Steven R. “Yacko” Fraine, 54, of Ottawa passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Steve was born October 10, 1962 in Ottawa, Il to John and Peggy (Sapp) Fraine. He attended Morris schools and graduated from Morris Community High School with the Class of 1980. He married his high school sweetheart, Debbie Willis, on November 4, 1989 at St. Columba Catholic Church in Ottawa. He was a laborer in Local 393 for many years before he entered the Local 597 Pipefitters Apprenticeship. Yocko truly loved life and everyone he met loved him. To know him was to love him. He was an avid, die-hard fan of Notre Dame, the New York Mets and the Chicago Bears. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and the American Legion. He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie; his parents, Peggy (Glenn) Bright and John (Carol) Fraine; his “four-legged daughter” Sadie; two sisters, Suzanne (Mike) Day and Michelle Patelli; one brother, Andrew (Sherri) Fraine; step-sisters Glenda Farmer and Nan Haggenjos; his nieces and nephews, Eric, Paige and Steve Day, Primo & Giada Patteli, Reanna Willis, and Megan Gore as well as an abundance of amazing friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jimmie and Art Sapp, and Nora and Roy Fraine, his mother-in-law Lela B. Hill and his nephew, Kellen Day. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Ottawa Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, September 30, 2017 at St. Columba Church with Rev. Corey Krengiel officiating. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery at a later date. Pallbearers will be Mike, Eric, and Steve Day, Mike and Tim Graves, and John Bohler. Memorials may be directed to the Red Cross, Hospice, or donor's choice.
