August 24, 1931 — June 7, 2015

Stanley E. Williams, 83, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Johnson officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery with military honors. Stanley was born August 24, 1931 in Aurora, Illinois to Charles and Genevieve (Rhodes) Williams. He married Norma Baker and together they had five children. He married Opal Jennings; she passed away. On December 15, 1979 he married Betty Hoffman; she passed away December 11, 2013. He worked for Illinois Laundry and was a bread salesman for Purity Bakery. He was a Sergeant in the United States Marines Corps from January 28, 1952 to January 27, 1954. During his service time he received the National Defense Service Metal. He was a Higher Degree member of the Moose and past officer, a lifetime member of the American Legion, and officer at AARP. He loved to fish, cook, spend time with his friends at the Moose, go for drives, and in his younger days he rode a motorcycle. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was always happy and always greeted people with a smile. He is survived by four daughters, Carol (Gary) McConville, Darla (Jeff) Smith, Karen (Mike) Miller, and Lori (Mike) Maskel; nine grandchildren, Dennis (Kristen) Applebee, Heather (Ray) Gerkitz, Marilyn (Thomas) Wood, Veronica (Sean Moreno) Flori, Jason (Meghan) and Joshua (Angela)Friestad, Jenny (Tim) Peters, Jeffrey and Kelly Maskel; twelve great-grandchildren, Kris, Emma, Jonah, Isaac, Lauren, Haley, Dylan, Faith, Katelyn, Beau, Olivia and Grace; one great-great-great grandson due any day, baby Aubry; five step-children; three step grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wives; one daughter, Marilyn L. Williams; and one brother, Doyle L. Williams. Pallbearers will be Dennis Applebee, Jason and Joshua Friestad, Jeff Maskel, Sean Moreno, Ray and Kris Gerkitz, and Tim Peters. Memorials may be directed to Mooseheart.
