Stanley "Bud" V. Osman Jr., 85, of Ottawa, passed away Saturday January 16, 2010 at his home. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 20, at Ottawa Funeral Home with Pastor David Decker officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday January 19, from 4-7 PM, with Masonic Rites at 7 PM. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park with Military Services. Stanley was born November 26, 1924 in Ottawa, IL to Stanley and Charlotte (Antram) Osman Sr. He married Gertrude "Gert" Poulaki December 28, 1952 in Ottawa at Episcopal Church United Methodist Church. He was employed at E.I. Dupont Services for 40 years. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. Stanley was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Ottawa, the past Master and member of the Occidental Lodge # 40, Ancient Free (A.F.) and Accepted Masons (A.M.), Shabbona Chapter #37, Royal Arch Masons, Oriental Council #13, R.S.M., Ottawa Commandery # 10, the Knights Templar, Scottish Rite - 32nd Degree and Mohammed Shrine of Peoria, IL. Along with serving in the Honor Guard of the American Legion in Ottawa, Stanley was a member of Post #33 and the V.F.W. Post #2470. Stanley is survived by his wife, Gert; one son, Jeffrey (Shammoth Nobles) of Palm Springs, CA; and a nephew, James A. (Zoe) Poulakis of Redwood City, CA. Stanley is preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Bob Waterfield, George Nelson, Frank Barnes, Bob Kittler, John Bruner, and Jeff Nugent. Memorials may be directed to Ottawa Regional Hospice or Epworth United Methodist Church.
