Stan "Stosh" Mazon, 72, of Ottawa, IL passed away at home, as he wished, with his longtime friend and caregiver, Lorinda Korth, by his side on March 6, 2020.
Private cremation rights have been accorded by the Ottawa Funeral Home. Honoring his wishes, there will be no services.
Stan was born February 4, 1948 in Chicago, IL to Joseph & Wanda Mazon and grew up in Joliet, IL and held records at West Joliet HS in track for running. He attended JJC & IVCC. He served in the USAF during the Vietnam War Era.
Stan retired at the age of 55 from GE Plastics. He was a caring, generous, kindhearted, fun loving man. He loved listening to all genres of music and was an avid sports fan of Notre Dame, Packers, White Sox, Black Hawks and the Celtics. The love of golf finally gave him his whole-in-one in 2018. He enjoyed going on long walks and working in his garden. He was a proud grandpa and enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren.
Stan is survived by one son, Erich (Cheri) Mazon of Batavia, IL; his sister Mary (Bill) Ballantyne of Ontario, Canada; two grandchildren, Eden and Emerson; two nephews, Aaron, Michael, two nieces and special friends, Mike & Lorinda.
He is proceeded in death by his parents; one brother, Victor Mazon, longtime friend, Larry Korth and his furry friend, Nevada.
Honoring his wishes, to remain home until his passing, a very special thank you to his care team; Preslei Korth (CNA), Kelli Lyle (CG) Julie Bykowski (CG), Compasses Hospice; Lisa (RN), Biatris (RN) and Chelsea (CNA). With the help of all of you, his wishes were granted to remain at home and he is now resting peacefully.
