Stanley L. Alms Jr., 81, of Ottawa passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Ottawa Pavilion.
Funeral Services will be held at 6 pm Monday, March 6 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Fevlo officiating. Visitation will be from 4 -6 pm Monday, prior to the services, at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery at 9am on Tuesday, March 7.
Stanley was born May 5, 1935 in Chicago to Stanley and Virginia (Hoagland) Alms. He married Janice Voss on August 27, 1955 at St. Casimir Church in Streator; she passed away September 18, 2013. Stanley retired from Libby Owens Ford after many years.
He is survived by four sons, Mike, Steve, and William (Barbara) Alms, all of Ottawa, and Greg (Michelle) Alms of Lake in the Hills; two daughters, Julia (Mark) DuBois of San Antonio, TX; and Elizabeth Reside of Marietta, GA; thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce (Robert) Ruhland, and Carol Almson; one brother, Roy (Susan) Alms; brothers-in-law, Jim (Carol) Voss, and David (Robin) Voss; and three sisters-in-law, Debra (Gilbert) Petre, Glenna (William) Pottinger, and Michelle (Walt) Henne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one brother-in-law, Donald Voss.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Starved Rock Country Community Foundation, or at SRCCF.org, for the Ottawa/Naplate disaster relief fund.
