Shirley J. Tyler-Woods, 69, of Utica, IL passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Pastor Burl Cole and Pastor John Paul Robbins officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Friday, August 20, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Shirley was born August 20, 1940 in Wedron, IL to Thomas and Ruby (Rogers) Tyler. She married Richard Woods in 1983 in Morris, IL. She worked as a Beautician for many years. Shirley is survived by her husband, Richard of Utica; five sons, Rev. Darryl (Candy) Young of Okawville, IL; Mark (Grace) Galvan Jr. of Streator, IL; Michael (De Anna) Galvan of Ottawa, IL David (Rhonda) Galvan of Zion, IL; Jason Galvan of Ottawa, IL; one daughter, Christine (Lance) Carr of Okawville, IL; eighteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Henrietta Hedgepath of Lakeland, FL; and two brothers, Jack (Melody) of Brandon, FL, and Tom (Ruth) Tyler of Pekin, IL. She is preceded in death by her former husband, Mark Galvan Sr., and one sister, Iris Anderson. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Memorials may be directed to the family.
