Sheila McCormick, 68, of Sheridan, IL, passed away on December 2nd, 2024, at her home surrounded by family.

Sheila was born September 23rd, 1956, in Ottawa, Illinois. She married Terry McCormick on October 7th, 1978.

She owned and operated her own business for over 30 years by the name of Sam's Bookkeeping Service. Sheila did the books for many of the local nonprofits in the area, always going above and beyond to help and assist in any way she could. She served as a member of several boards including the Community Food Basket and Ottawa Opportunity School.

Sheila enjoyed reading and always had stacks of books to be read. She always said the books will find you when you need them. Sheila loved nature and the simple splendor of a beautiful tree. She loved the fall season most of all. She looked forward to her trips to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, cherishing the solitude and beauty.

She is survived by her two children, Kaitlin Anne McCormick of Littleton, CO and Michael Joseph (Lisa Garza) McCormick of Darien, IL, and her found family, her sister Julie Bowers of Ottawa, IL, and her daughter Saadia Arayan (Abid Farooq) and her grandchildren of Oswego, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband.
