Sharon was born in Morris Hospital and was brought to the family farm in Brookfield Township, south of Seneca. This is where she lived for over 60 years with her family until her parents passed, forcing her to leave her beloved farm. She then moved into Seneca, where she made new friendships and developed her talents for baking. Sharon was soon baking and selling pies, cookies, and Kringla. She had many faithful customers over the years. She was always willing to make a pie or two for a local funeral dinner. Her pies were famous!
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Pauline Johnson; a nephew, Bob Johnson; a good friend, Larry Erickson; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her sister, Shirley Fezekas; brother, Stan Johnson (Sue); nephews, Keith Fezekas (Mary) and Dave Johnson (Janice); and her faithful companion, "Timmy the Cat."
Ottawa Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Cremation rites were performed according to her wishes.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 4th, at 10 a.m. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Seneca, Illinois.
Preferred form of remembrance would be to Our Savior's Lutheran Church or Mount Hope Cemetery.
