Sandra Kae Erwin

Sandra Kae Erwin, 68, of Ottawa, IL, died, Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 4, 2013 at St. Patrick's Church, with the Rev. Joseph Donton officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Sandy was born March 23, 1944, in Moline, Illinois, to Alfred and Marguerite (Roegiers) Zimmerman. She married Charles Erwin on Sept. 12, 1964 at Sacred Heart Church in Moline. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1994. She was an OB Nurse at OSF St. Elizabeth Hospital and retired after 33 years. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa and the Moose. She is survived by one son, David Erwin; two daughters, Kristine (Joe) Grey of Earlville and Katherine (Jeff) Goetsch of Ottawa; seven grandchildren, Megan, Jordan, Jared, Morgan, Emily, Mollie, and Cameron; three great grandchildren, Marquis, Charli, and Leah. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; a daughter, Stephanie in infancy; and a grandson, Caleb in infancy. Pallbearers will be Jeff Goetsch, Joe Grey, Gabe Carretto, Dan Green, Dave Buckingham, and Tim Corcoran. Memorials may be directed to IVCC Nursing Scholarship in Sandra's name or the OB Unit at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
