Sandra Annette (Deuser) Peters

Sandra Annette Peters, 83, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with cremation rites. Sandy was born January 20, 1938 in Chicago to William "Harry" and Blanche (Marshall) Deuser. She married Garry L. Peters on August 7, 1957; he passed away June 28, 2003. Sandy retired from Rush Hospital in Oak Park in 2013. Growing up, Sandy enjoyed volleyball, swimming, and roller-skating. Sandy loved dancing with her husband Garry, and as their children grew, the two of them became active scout leaders. Sandy was strong and feisty, but she was also a most loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She always made time for family or friends and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her three children, Dale (Eva Pum) Peters of CA, Daryle (Patricia Coy) Peters of Ottawa, and Tamara (late Robert) Maslanka of Ottawa; five grandchildren, Dale (Cassandra Ott) Peters Jr., Angelica (Joseph) Taylor, Michaela Peters, Tabatha and Zakary Maslanka; four great-grandchildren, Katlyn (Zachary), Alexia, Kailie, and Madilynn; three great-great-grandchildren, Luna, Maxie, and Oliver; one brother, Robert (Faith) Deuser of Tinley Park; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three siblings, Erlene Benger, William Jr., and James Deuser. Memorials may be directed to her family.
