Samuel J. Moreno

Samuel Moreno, 83, of Ottawa, IL, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at LaSalle County Nursing Home.

Funeral Services will be Noon on Saturday at the Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev Bruno Byomuhai officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 on Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.

Sam was born May 27, 1936, in Ottawa, IL , to Edward and Adela (Leal) Moreno. He married Mary Jane Pellino on February 5, 1972 in Fort Myers, Fl.

He was a member of Local 150 Operating Engineers. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Ottawa Moose, Shoreline Boat Club, and the American Legion. He was also inducted into the John Pocivasek hall of Fame for AthletIc Accomplishment and commitment to Marquette High School.

He is survived by his wife Jane; one daughter Shelley (Dale) Smith of Ottawa, two grandchildren Jacob and Sarah Smith; two brothers Ed and Ron (Rita) Moreno and two sisters Betty (Les) Burrows and Sharon Bundy.

Samuel was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Dale Smith, Jacob Smith, Sarah Smith, Stephen Pellino, Jim Fewell and James Fewell.
