Ruth Turner, 82, of Northbrook, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at Pleasant View. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at St. Columba Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, prior to Mass, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Ruth was born April 20, 1931, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Arthur and Elizabeth (Pleskovitch) Barron. She married Richard Turner of November 27, 1954, at St. Columba. He died January 6, 2007. She is survived by four sons; Rick (Anita) of Sycamore, Gary (Debra) of Ottawa, Robert (Kara) of Ashville, NC, and David (Kathy) of Apache Junction, AZ; three daughters, Cathy (Mike) Cannivet of Naples, FL, Debra Vardakis of Palatine, IL, and Diane Paice of Carpinteria, CA; twenty grandchildren, Joseph (Christina), Genevieve, Will, Keenan (Deborah), Anastasia, Kyle, Nicholas, Matthew and Jason Turner, Christine Braun, Michael (Jennifer), John and Brennan Cannivet, Lukas (Erika), Benjamin and Kevin Spies and John (Anna), Daniel, Kelly and Kalah Paice; six great grandchildren; five sisters, Lorraine (Bill) Barber of Ottawa, Shirley Miller of Davenport, IA, Adele Schott of Ottawa, Donna Barron of Deerfield, IL and Zeta Conrad of Ottawa; and two brothers, Arthur (Mary) of Santa Barbara, CA and Dr. John (Char) of Lexington, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; a daughter, Anne Frances, in infancy; and three brothers, Francis "Manny", Lawrence "Butch" and Paul Barron. Pallbearers will be grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to St. Columba Building Fund.
