Ruth M. Truty

Ruth (Mickelson) Truty, 83, of Ottawa, IL, died, Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Ottawa Pavilion. Funeral Services will be 1:30 pm Tuesday August 4, 2009 at Ottawa Funeral Home , with Pastor Tim Johnson officiating. Burial will be in West Lisbon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:30 pm at Ottawa Funeral Home. Ruth was born, August 5, 1925, in Marseilles, IL., to Arthur and Bredia (Johnson) Pierson. She married Kenneth Mickelson August 19, 1947 in Sheridan, IL. He died January 29, 1985. She then married William M. Truty on October 6, 1995. He died October 15, 2004. She was a Missionary in Africa with her first Husband. She was a member of St. Columba Church in Ottawa and Peace Lutheran Church in Morris, Il. She is survived by two Step-Sons, Mark (Karen) Truty of Ottawa and William (Constance) Truty of Mendota; six Grandchildren, Erin, William "Skip", Bob, Mark II, Andrew and Melissa. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin, Everett, and Wendell; and two sisters, Gladys Peterson and Beatrice Shelton. Memorials may be directed to the family.
