Ruth Ann Schott

Ruth Ann Schott, 73, of Ottawa, IL, passed away December 19th, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.

The funeral service will be held at Ottawa Funeral Home on December 30th, 2024 at 1pm. Visitation will be prior from 12-1pm. A private burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park.

Ruth was born May 10th, 1951, in Morris, Illinois, to Russell and Mildred (Shockey) Myers. She married James Schott on June 10th, 1972 in Morris, Illinois & on May 25th, 1972 in Clovis, New Mexico.

She worked at White Marsh Anderson Martin Vickers Deobler & Goode Law Office as a legal secretary. She was a member of St. Columba & a local quilting guild. Ruth loved to do crafts, quilt, and spend time with her grandchildren and family. She adored her family and dogs she rescued throughout the years.

She is survived by; Husband, James Schott; 3 Children, James Jr. (Megan) Schott, Adam Schott, Thomas (Kathryn) Schott; Grandchildren, Andrew, Owen, Dylan, Carter, Harper; 1 Brother; 6 Sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by; her Parents; and Sister Barb Hawks.

The family would also like to extend their appreciation to everyone that has had unwavering support & help over the years including; Cathy, Nancy, Tina, Brenda, and Billy.
