OTTAWA -- Ruth Mary Powers, 81, of Ottawa, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Rivershores Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Marseilles. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Columba Church in Ottawa with the Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Ms. Powers was born Nov. 6, 1926, in Ottawa, to Michael A. and Margaret T. (Murphy) Collins. She was a medical transcriptionist. She is survived by two daughters, Hannah (Daniel) Moyer and Shannon Alvord, both of Colorado; 13 grandchildren, Michael Jr., Neal, Michael, William Jr., Angilique, Mark Jr., Jamie, Jeffrey, Megan, Meighen, Seana, Taylor and Bailey; 25 great-grandchildren; and one brother, James Collins of Seneca. She was preceded in death by three sons, Michael J. and William Lee Miller and Mark Stuart Clark; and two brothers, Robert and Harold Collins. Memorials may be directed to Ottawa Hospice.
