Ruth Forbes

Ruth R. Forbes, 95, of Ottawa, IL, died, Saturday, October 31, 2009 at LaSalle County Nursing Home. Funeral Services were at 11:00 Monday, November 2, 2009 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with the Rev Doug Williams officiating. Burial was at Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Ottawa Funeral Home. Ruth was born September 25, 1914, in Geneseo, IL, to Joseph and Alvina (Young) Horn. She married Harlan Forbes on September 3, 1934 in Galesburg, Illinois, he died in 1964. She is survived by one daughter, Carlene Herrera of Ottawa; one son, Randy Forbes of Ottawa; four grandchildren; Dan and Rick Herrera, Pam and Jamie Forbes; six great-grandchildren, Carly, Shauna, Andrew, Breiana, Lexi Herrera and Randi Lynn Reynolds. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan; four sons, Richard, Ronald, Gary and Roger in infancy. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
