Ruth Ann Brooke

Ruth Ann Brooke, 61, of Ottawa, IL, died, Sunday, November 14, 2010 at her home. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, November 19, 2010 at Epworth United Methodist Church, with the Pastor Nancy Rethford officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 pm, Thursday, November 18 at Ottawa Funeral Home, and one hour before the services at church. Ruth was born February 4, 1949, in Streator, IL, to Edwin and Velma (Cline) Howe. She married Richard Brooke on June 8, 2002 at Epworth United Methodist Church. She graduated from Western Illinois University with her B.S. and received her Masters degree from St. Xaviers College. She was a Teacher at Fieldcrest Elementary School District, and retired in Dec. of 2009. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Sunday School Teacher and was a member of the Choir. She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Beth (Josh) Zapf, of West Lafayette, IN; two sons, James Matthew Reddick of Ottawa and Paul Drake of Ottawa; a step-daughter, Bethany (Ryan) Ashley of Frankfort, KY; two step-sons, Ross (Kim) Brooke of Edwardsburg, MI, and Ryan (Michelle) Brooke of Ottawa; eleven grandchildren, Olivia, Benjamin, and Levi Zapf, and Lexi Brooke, Katie and Jordan Dohm, and Adam DeMoss, Alex and Alyssa Brooke, and Hannah and Ava Ashley; two sisters, Rosemary (John) Ehrnthaller of Rutland and Sue (Don) Morgan of Wenona. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be directed to Epworth United Methodist Church, Ottawa Friendship Village, or Illinois Valley PADS.
