Russell D. Duffield

Russell D. Duffield, 83, of Ottawa, died Friday, July 31, 2009 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rev. Lourduraj Ignatius officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 on Tuesday and from 9-11:00 am prior to services at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Russell was born April 7, 1926 in Ottawa, IL, to Dewey and Leah (Capsel) Duffield. He married Mary Helffrich November 26, 1955 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. He is a retired farmer and had worked for the LaSalle Country Highway. Russell was a member of the Ottawa Elks and Moose Lodge and also was a part of a coffee group at McDonalds. He is survived by his wife of 53 years; one daughter, Gail (Bill) Peters of Triumph; two sons Mark ( Kathy Saager) Duffield of LaSalle and Michael Duffield of Ottawa; 1-Granddaughter Sarah-Marie Duffield and three step-grandchildren, two sisters, Leah (Alfred) Riebe of Ottawa and Patricia (Walter) Watts of Wisconsin; one brother Arthur (Elaine) Duffield of Streator. Russell is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Robert Duffield. Pallbearers will be James Baxter, Art Mason, Ed Riebe, Tim Helffrich, Randy Michelini & Larry Znaniecki Memorials may be directed to Ottawa Friendship Village or to the family
