Roy E. Hiles

Roy E. Hiles, 77, of Ottawa, IL, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, surrounded by his wife and children. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at St. Columba Church, with the Rev. Ray Guthrie, officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 pm, Monday, February 7 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with prayers at 4:00 PM Roy was born, in Canton Ohio, to Samuel and Hattie (Littman) Hiles. He married Doris Jean Gayan November 27, 1954 at St. Columba Church in Ottawa. He retired form L.O.F Glass Co. after 43 years of service in 1995. He worked for Bill Walsh Automotive he enjoyed driving, taking people to the airport, for Medical Appointments. He was active with the Ottawa Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corp. a follower of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps. He was a member of St. Columba Church. He is survived by his wife one son Terry (Melinda) Hiles of TX two daughters Betty (Art) LeBeau of Marseilles and Kathy (Greg) Hack of Peru; six grandchildren Cortney Hiles, Ashley LeBeau, Kris LeBeau, Hilary Hack, Tony Hack, Lindsey Hiles and four great grandchildren Davin, Joshua, Ellana and Samuel, three brothers Joe (Pat) Hiles, Paul (Marie) Hiles and Richard Hiles all of Ohio. He loved his family very much and will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Harold, Harry and Ralph Hiles. Pallbearers will be Delbert McConnaughhay, Michael Simms, Steve Hiles, Gary Hiles, Richard Hiles Jr, Brian Gayan. Honorary Pallbearers will his grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to the family.
