Rosemary Sheedy

Rosemary R. Sheedy, 90, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Ottawa Pavilion.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 9 at St. Columba Church in Ottawa. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., one and a half hours prior to the services on Saturday. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Ransom.

Rosemary was born July 25, 1925 in Kinsman, Illinois to William and Rose (Vint) Sisk. She married Emmett Sheedy on September 7, 1946 at Sacred Heart Church in Kinsman; he passed away September 6, 2001.

Rosemary retired from AT&T Long Lines in Plano, IL after 14 years. Prior to that, she was a secretary in the Seneca Shipyards during WWII for Chicago Bridge and Iron. She was a member of St. Columba Church in Ottawa and a previous member of St. Patrick's Church and its Altar and Rosary Society in Seneca. Rosemary was a hard working farmer's wife. She loved gardening, cardinal birds, and shopping, and traveling with her husband, Emmett. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her three sons, Randy (Paula) of Kinsman, Jerry (Kris) of Ottawa, and Greg (Lynn) of Peru; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Norma Clair-Sisk of Coal City; and special friends, Howard and Becky Rosenwinkel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett; her parents; and two brothers, Roland "Bud" Sisk, and Clair "Gus" Sisk.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Columba Church or Sacred Heart Church in Kinsman.
