Rosemary Grieves

OTTAWA -- Rosemary Grieves, 83, of Ottawa, died Friday, Feb. 8, at Community Hospital of Ottawa. Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Church with the Rev. Philip Halfacre officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Mrs. Grieves was born Dec. 19, 1924, in Peru, to Arthur and Rosella (Drum) Anderson. She married Lester Grieves on Sept. 28, 1944, at St. Columba Church in Ottawa. He died in February 1981. She was a registered nurse for the visiting nurses. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church and its Altar & Rosary society, Joliet Nursing Alumni, TOPS and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She is survived by a daughter, Jean (Scott) Schillings of Ottawa; a son, John (Sue) Grieves of Ottawa; a son-in-law, Robert Brandow; six grandchildren, Bridget (David) Wheeler, Scott Jr. and Jeremy (Nicole) Schillings, Holly (Andy) Perino and Casey and Ryan Brandow; and three great-grandchildren, Tashina, Keith and Zack. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Brandow, a son, Lester Jr. "Spike," four brothers, Jack, Art and Richard Anderson and Ronald in infancy and two sisters, Rosella in infancy and Charlotte. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.
