Rose Mary Liebe

Rose Mary Liebe, 97, of Ottawa, Illinois, died Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Pleasant View Lutheran Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011 at St. Columba Church with the Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Rose was born January 28, 1914, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Michael and Christina (Cassata) Rockford. She married Walter Liebe on April 6, 1940 at St. Columba Church. He died April 23, 2004. She retired from LOF Glass Co. She was a member of St. Columba Church and Catholic Daughters of Americas. She is survived by three sister-in-laws, Carion Rockford of Lancaster, California, Ruth Kuffel of Ashton, and Rosemary Liebe of Ladd; a brother-in-law, Don Seaton of LaSalle; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; four brothers, Frank, Raymond, Leo and Joseph Rockford; and three sisters, Mary Funk, Ann Reece, and Kay Zeller. Pallbearers will be Robert, Mick, and Spencer Rockford, Will Chapman, and B.J. Liebe. Memorials may be directed to Ottawa Food Pantry or Ottawa Hospice.
