Rosanne Bonini, 70, of Ottawa passed away Monday, December 9, 2019 at OSF St. Joseph's Hospital in Bloomington, after a long illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, December 17 at St. Columba Church, with Reverend David Kipfer officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home. Rosanne was born June 13, 1949, in Ottawa, IL, to August and Stella (Bertinatti) Bonini. She graduated from Western Illinois University and Northern Illinois University. She was a special needs teacher at Marseilles High School and Ottawa Township High School for 34 years, retiring in 2005. She was a lifelong member of St. Columba Church. She is survived by her cousins Rosemary (Guy) Blaiszik of Troy Grove and Gerald (Patricia Pohl) Castelli of Ottawa, Gerald (Kirsten) Castelli Jr, John (Paula) Castelli Jr., David (Michelle) Castelli, Jeremy Castelli, Taylore Castelli, all of Ottawa; Robynn (Jeremy) Smith of Sheffield, IL, and Jennifer (Alan) Mileta of Vancouver, BC. She was preceded in death by her parents, her cousin, John Castelli, and her special friend, ElRoy Dannewitz.
Pallbearers will be John Jr., David, Jeremy, Jonah, Collin, Griffin, Samuel and Cody Castelli.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Ottawa High School Special Needs Department or Marseilles Pet Project.
