Rosalie C. Leake

Rosalie C. Leake, 88, of Ottawa passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at Aperion Care in Spring Valley. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 pm Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Rosalie was born October 19, 1928 in Ottawa to George and Susan (O'Brian) Evans. She married Harry Leake on December 31, 1949 at St. Columba Church; he passed away April 3, 1991. Rosalie worked at Libby Owens Ford, from which she retired in 1989. She was a member of St. Columba Church, the American Legion Auxiliary post 33, the Women of the Moose Chapter 522, and the VFW post 2470. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Charles) Scherer of Ottawa; two grandchildren, Charlie (Tonya Thorpe) Scherer and Chanda (Bradley) Baxter; and six great-grandchildren, Airman Bryce Hicks, Charleigh Hicks, Bryar Baxter, Addison Scherer, Audrey Scherer, and Cooper Baxter. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Pallbearers will be Charlie Scherer, Bradley Baxter, Mark Wackerlin, David Mennie, Danny Mennie, and Larry Brown. Memorials may be directed to the family.
