Ronnie Menees

Ronnie Edgar Menees, 89, of Marseilles, formerly of Seneca, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Goldwater Care in Marseilles.

Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.

Ronnie was born February 14, 1936 to Charles and Myrtel Menees. He married Margaret Sheedy on October 7, 1974. She preceded him in death on September 29, 2018.

Ronnie served as a corporal in the United States Marine Corp from 1956 until 1961. He retired from Equistar Chemical in 1998 after 27 years of dedicated service. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed golfing, baseball, and woodworking.

He is survived by his children, Rick Menees of Wallace, Idaho, Don (Connie) Towne of Ottawa, Michael (Tami) Towne of Sun Prarie, Wisconsin, Jeff (Lori) Towne of Ottawa, Mary (Bill) Garretson of Pontiac, Ann Menees of Waterloo, Wisconsin, and Rhonda (Aaron) Clark of Morris; his 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; as well as his sisters in law, Kathleen Wells of Morris and Sally (Michael) Smith of Oviedo, Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Myrtel; his beloved wife of 43 years, Margaret; 2 brothers; and 5 sisters.

Memorials in his honor may be directed to Vitas Hospice or Pet project.
