Ronald J. Winnicki

Ronald J. Winnicki, 64, of Ottawa, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 1, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

A celebration of life will be held on July 20th at The Lone Buffalo in Ottawa, IL, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Please join us to share your favorite memories and celebrate his life. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home.

Ronald was born February 21, 1960, in Chicago, IL, to Joseph and Dorothy (Fleischacker) Winnicki.

Ronnie had a deep passion and love for cars. As a mechanic for many years, he dreamed of retiring to spend his free time restoring classic cars. When he wasn't working, he found joy in fishing and tinkering with various projects. Ronnie cherished the simplicity of life and delighted in the small things. He was surrounded by many friends and constantly made new ones wherever he went. His ability to find common ground with anyone he met meant he always left with a new friend. Ronnie adored his children and his dog, Bella, and enjoyed spending time with his significant other, Rebekah. His unique laugh could light up any room.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy; his children, Merissa, Kristen, and Joey; his grandchildren, Ellie, Alex, Dylan, and Trevor; and his siblings, Kathy, Linda, and Chad. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph.

The loss is immeasurable, but so is the love left behind.
