BROOKFIELD TOWNSHIP -- Ronald Frye, 76, of Brookfield Township, died Monday, Dec. 31, at Heritage Manor in Streator. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Church in Seneca with Monsignor Raymond Boyle officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Ransom. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home in Seneca with prayers at 7 p.m. Visitation also will be one hour prior to Mass Friday at the church. Mr. Frye was born Jan. 30, 1931, in Brookfield Township, to Clarence and Hulda (Vosberg) Frye. He married Rose Marie Promenschenkel on Jan. 30, 1954, at St. Stephen's Church in Streator. He was a farmer. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Seneca, La Salle County Farm Bureau and Seneca FFA Alumni Association, Polish National Alliance in Streator and Fraternal Order of Eagles and a former leader of the Brookfield Indians 4-H Club. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Debra (James) Pfeifer of Russell, Iowa, and Pamela (David) Brockman of Verona; three sons, Ronald (Jennifer) of Kinsman, Richard (Judy) of Marseilles and Darryl of Seneca; 14 grandchildren, Daniel (Stefanie) and Justin Pfeifer, Angela (Cory) Clark, Jodi (Brian) Briggs, Christopher, Jeffrey and Sara Brockman and Erica, Ryan, David, Addison, Jessica, Joseph and Nicholas Frye; four great-grandchildren, Tanner and Connor Briggs, Abbigail Pfeifer and Keegan Clark; and two brothers, Melvin of Streator and Emmett of Marseilles. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Owen. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Church in Seneca or Hospice.
