Ronald E. Fanti, 74, of Ottawa, IL, died, Friday, February 19, 2010 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at St. Patrick's Church, with the Rev. Philip Halfacre officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 pm, Monday, February 22 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Ronald Fanti was born May 29, 1935, in Ottawa, IL. to Ernest and Mary (Pallai) Fanti. He married Patricia Woods on July 30, 1960 at St. Patrick's Church. He retired from LOF as an electrician after 42 years of service. He was a member St. Patrick's Church, Local 19, a local trustee for over 25 years and an ALCIO delegate. He graduated from Marquette High school and Coyne Electrical School. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Fanti; three sons, Ron, Randy (Noel), and Robert (Patricia) all of Ottawa; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeff) Parker, Stephen, Josh, Jeffrey, and Bryce Fanti; one great-grandchild, Kyler Parker; one brother, Richard (Lois) of Ottawa; one sister, Mary Ann (Pete) Halm of Cedar Rapid, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Charles Vaughn, Wayne Wiesbrock, James Aussem, Jim Weber, John Quinn and Jeff Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Mulinazzi and Allen Rexroat
