Roman F. Cummings

Roman Franklin Cummings, 63, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at his home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 9, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 pm prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow. Roman was born April 3, 1959, in Ottawa, IL to Millard and Catherine (Schmitt) Cummings. He was a proud member of Laborers local 393 from the time he was 18 years old until he retired in 2015. When he wasn't working he could be found on his Harley. He enjoyed working on cars, motorcycles, and anything that moved. He also had a great sense of humor; if he wasn't picking on you, you knew something was wrong. He is survived by his two children, Jess Cummings and Rose Cummings II; his grandson, Landyn Cummings; his siblings, Sandy Thompson, Debbie Shipe, Cathy Cummings, Jay Cummings, and Cheryl Mettille; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Roman was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine (Schmitt) Cummings and Millard Cummings; his grandparents, Carrie Mae and Franklin Cummings; and his siblings, Mark Cummings, Karon Figenbaum, Michael Baldwin and Cindy Jonassen.
