Roger Nevins

Roger Phillip Nevins, 71, of Ottawa, Illinois passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at his home. Private memorial services will be held at the Ottawa Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Bladen officiating. Roger was born December 6, 1943 in Springfield, Illinois to Marion and Evelyn (Snow) Nevins. He married Julie Wiggs in Ottawa, Illinois. Roger was retired from Carus Chemical Company in LaSalle. He is survived by his wife Julie; one son, Michael (Sandra) Nevins of Morris; seven daughters, Julie (Ken) Haage of Ottawa, Ginelle (Tom) Shilkuski of Ottawa, Melissa (Matthew) Gilbert of LaSalle, Nichole (James Baxter), Brooke, Ashley and Alex Nevins all of Ottawa; six grandchildren, Blare, Kayleigh, Cody, Emily and Treyton Haage, Cicelie Hayes; one brother, Gary Nevins; one sister, Lora Nevins both of Springfield; and one aunt, Catherine Smysor of Springfield. He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Dale Nevins. Memorials may be directed to the family.
