Robert "Wilkie" Williams

Robert "Wilkie" Williams, 76, of Ottawa, Illinois passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Agrace Hospice in Madison, Wisconsin, with his immediate family at his side. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at St. Patrick's Church with Father Tony Fevlo officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday, May 25, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 3:45. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery with Military Honors. Robert was born December 16, 1938 in Ottawa, Illinois to Walter and Lillian (Smith) Williams. After high school, he joined the Army as a Fighting Engineer. After his discharge, Bob married the love of his life, Phyllis Pillion, on December 11, 1965. Bob was a Millwright for Local 2158 until his retirement in 1998. He and his wife also operated the Lazy L Tavern for 18 years. After his first battle with cancer, he fully retired and spent the next 17 years enjoying life with his family. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, the K of C, American Legion, and LaSalle County Cruisers. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis; his daughter, Terri (Larry) Makenas of Alsip; one son, Michael (Nicole) of Madison, WI.; four grandchildren, Jessica and Alec Makenas and Sloane and Sean Williams; his brother, Walter (Marilyn) Williams; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gerald Williams; and one sister, Jacqueline Miller. Pallbearers will be Alec Makenas, Ron Pillion, Steve Klein, Jeff and David Schmoeger, Brian and Rob Jarigese. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed Agrace Hospice 5395 E.
