Robert Wheeler

Robert Wheeler, 82, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013, at Ottawa Pavilion. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at St. Francis of Assisi Church with Rev. Mike Adrie officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2013, at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 7:00 p.m. with the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus in attendance. He will be buried at Calvary Cemetery. Bob was born October 12, 1930, in Spring Valley, Illinois, to Harry and Bertha (Tieman) Wheeler. He married Marguerite Maloney August 25, 1962, at St. Bernard Church in Chicago, Illinois. He retired from Libby Owens Ford Glass Company after 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Knights of Columbus, the 4th Degree, their Color Guard, Past Grand Knight, and The Holy Name Society, Past President of St. Columba Parents Club, Moose Lodge #960, and the Mendota Elks. He is survived by his loving wife, Marge; one son, Thomas Wheeler of Ottawa; one daughter, Carol Javens of Chicago; and one grandson, Gregory White. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Ruth Lukosus. Memorials may be directed to Friendship Village and St. Francis of Assisi Church.
