Robert M. Pfau, 94, of Ottawa passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Ottawa Pavilion.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, April 24 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. Corey Krengiel officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 am, prior to services, at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.
Bob was born July 19, 1924, in LaSalle, the son of Matthew J. and Loretta (Mullen) Pfau. He attended Grand Ridge and Ottawa High Schools, graduating from Ottawa in 1943. On November 26, 1949, he married Gladys Nagel; she survives.
He farmed all his life and in later years, he worked in maintenance for LaSalle County. He enjoyed fishing in Minnesota with family members and was very interested in antiques and collectibles. He enjoyed going to many antique sales and flea markets and was also an avid fan of vintage cars and tractors. He was a member of St. Columba Church.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Michael M. (Patty Hayes) Pfau of Serena; one daughter-in-law, Susan Pfau of Serena; one son-in-law, Mark Pleskovitch of Earlville; ten grandchildren, Jennifer Pfau, Amie (Scott) Nystrom, Rebecca (Brett Johnson) Guzman, Megan (Jason) Friestad, Peter (Jenna) Pfau, Beth (Scott) Govednik, Diane (Kyle) Schott, Tami (Jeff) Harmon, Kathi (Dustin) Cade, and Andrea (Bob) Whittaker; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Pfau; a daughter, Mary Jane Pleskovitch; and two brothers, Charles, Sr. and George Pfau.
Serving as pallbearers will be Peter Pfau, Scott Nystrom, Jason Friestad, Scott Govednik, Dustin Cade, Bob Whittaker, Kyle Schott, and Jeff Harmon.
Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
