Robert J. Jessen

Robert J. Jessen, 67, of Ottawa passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am, Wednesday, December 19 at St. Columba Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm, Tuesday, December 18 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with prayers at 3:45 pm. He will be buried at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton.

Bob was born April 9, 1951 in Ottawa to William C. and Loretta J. (Stoudt) Jessen. He married Debra Mooney; she preceded him in death April 15, 2002. He married Kathy Bickett Krauss June 28, 2015; she survives.

Bob retired from Pilkington, then went back to school to further his education. He proudly graduated from Northern Illinois University December 15, 2015 with his Bachelor's Degree in History and then pursued his career in substitute teaching. He immensely enjoyed substitute teaching, reading, and history. He loved watching his girls' sports and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his step-son, Brandon (Laurie) Carlson; his grandchildren, Mayah, Sophia, and Tessa Carlson; his brother, Barry Jessen; his aunt, Doris Jessen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Debra; and his brother, William Jessen.

Pallbearers will be Bill Vogel, Jeff Mooney, Don Setser, Noah Setser, Calym Setser, and Rich Jessen. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dale Berg and Gary Mooney.
