Robert Bastian

Robert (Bob) K. Bastian, 70 of Ottawa, passed away with his family by his side on Monday, June 15, 2026 at Serenity Estates of Morris after a lengthy illness.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, from 2:00pm until 5:00pm at Ottawa Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will take place at 5:00pm. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery at a later date.

Bob was born November 15, 1955 to Ralph R. and Mae L. (Severson) Bastian. Bob attended elementary school in Ottawa, IL and graduated from Coon Rapids High School in Minnesota in 1975. Bob worked in the food industry as a cook and manager for several restaurants before he retired. He was avid sports fan. He enjoyed high school, college, and pro sports. Bob especially liked the Ottawa Pirates, Cubs, Bears, and Bulls.

He is survived by his twin brother, Roger (Ellen) Bastian of Olney, IL; his sisters, Judy Ortiz of Ottawa, IL and Diana (Knute) Gunderson of Plainfield, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mae; his brothers, Ralph, Larry, Gary and Duane Bastian; and his sister, Lois Wawerski.
