Robert Allen

Robert Allen, 87, of LaSalle passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 at LaSalle Veterans Home. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Bladen officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be 2:00 pm Thursday in Oak Hill Cemetery 11900 S. Kedzie Ave Alsip, IL 60803. Robert was born September 4, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to Darwin and Claire Allen. He married Mary Louise Enstrom in Chicago January 26, 1951; she passed away September 27, 1986. He proudly served in the United States Army. He was a bricklayer for over 50 years. He also owned Reicherts Tavern in Brunswick, IN and Traxx Tavern in Peotone, IL. He was a member of the Bricklayers Union, Masonic Lodge, American Legion Post 33, and Starved Rock Radio Club. He is survived by two children, Richard (Kathleen) Allen and Elizabeth (Nelson) Gregory; three grandchildren, Amber Norris, Russell Allen, and Lauren Rentas; three great grandchildren, Lyla Norris, Matthew Allen, and Zachary Allen; and one brother, James Allen. He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Mary Louise; and two brothers, Bruce Allen and Russell Allen..
