Rita L. Christensen

Rita L. Christensen, 85, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Ottawa Pavilion. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 28, 2013 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa with Rev. Joseph Donton officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Ottawa Funeral Home with the rosary being recited at 3:00 p.m. and Catholic Daughters of Americas in attendance. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Rita was born January 24, 1928 in Ottawa, Illinois to James and Mary (Murphy) Fox. She married Henry Christensen on May 7, 1949 at St. Columba Church. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1998. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, and Catholic Daughters of Americas. She is survived by one daughter, Susan Christensen of Ottawa; one son, William "Bill" (Susan) Christensen of Seaton; three grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; five brothers, Robert, James, Francis, John, and Emmett Fox; and one sister, Alice Kiley. Pallbearers will be Wayne, Larry, Dale, Allen and Ronald Christensen and Frank Magana. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Church or Marquette Academy.
