Richard Spenny

Richard Spenny, 84, of Ottawa passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at his home. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, June 6, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Garry Briesacher officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to services Friday, June 6, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Military Services. Richard was born October 29, 1929 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Aaron and Ruby (McMillan)Spenny. He married Mary Ann Weaver on October 14, 1956. He worked as a chemist at Eckrich. He enjoyed working with and giving advice about cars and guns. He was a people person; he could talk to anyone. He loved animals; especially dogs but most of all he loved his family. He was a good Christian man. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann; two children, Linda Kalis and David (Nancy) Spenny; four grandchildren, Lindsey, Joanna, and Elsa Kalis, and April Spenny. He is preceded in death by his son, Phillip Spenny. Memorials may be directed to his family.
