Richard Laureano

Richard  Laureano, 63, of Ottawa, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Lightways Hospice in Joliet. Funeral services will be at a later date. Cremation rights have been accorded to Ottawa Funeral Home. Richard was born March 7, 1959, in Chicago, IL, to Pedro and Willadean (VanOver) Laureano. Richard was a great father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He always took the opportunity to spend time with his grandkids and to teach them new things. He loved to go fishing and enjoyed taking in the beautiful sights of nature from his front porch. When he really wanted to relax, he'd sit down and watch horror movies all night. He is survived by his children, Tabitha (Nelson) Franco, Rebecca Laureano, Bonnie (Christopher) Bowers and Michael Laureano; his step son, Nicolas Geyer; his grandchildren, Nelson III, Destinee, Liam, Leah, Justin, Alexandra, Daniella, Austin, Andrew, Hayleigh, and Landon; his siblings, Alicia (Robert) Newland and Michael (Donna) Laureano; as well as nine nieces and five nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Franklin (Dolores) Piper, Freddie, and Don Piper. Memorials may be directed to the family.
