Richard Hornbeck

Richard "Dick" Hornbeck, 74, of Ottawa, IL, died, Friday, September 11, 2009 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Brother Tommy Brill officiating of the Houston Road Baptist Church in Laurel, Miss. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 pm, Monday, September 14 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Dick was born February 5, 1935, in Serena IL., to Bernard and Verneil (McLaughlin) Hornbeck. He married Elizabeth "Nana" Diaz June 18, 1974 in Springfield. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Unamin in Utica. He was the Sergeant of Arms at the American Legion and a member of the Honor Guard. He is survived by his wife, Nana; one son, Mike (Sandy) Hornbeck of Anniston, AL; one daughter, Terri Temple of Laurel, Miss.; three step-sons, Ronnie Stillwell, Tom (Dana) Stillwell, and Kevin (Kerri) Stillwell, all of Ottawa; one step-daughter, Roxanne (Jim) Torres of Ottawa; twenty-one Grandchildren; twenty-eight Great-Grandchildren; two brothers, Leo (Wilma) of Marseilles, and Gerald (Ann) of Lake Saint Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Rosemary Johnson; one brother, Robert Hornbeck; and a step-son, Jerry Stillwell. Pallbearers will be his Grandsons; Josh, Seth, Chad, and Ronnie Stillwell, and Jeremy and Jimmy Torres. Memorials may be directed to the family.
