Richard "Rick" Harry Sherman

Richard "Rick" Sherman, 74, of Ottawa, IL, passed away July 7, 2022 at his home .

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM Monday at the Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Caster officiating. Visitation will start at Noon before the services. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery with Military Services.

Rick was born August 16, 1947, in Ottawa, IL, to William and Elaine (Finkeel) Sherman . He married Debbie Sampson on December 17, 2022 in Ottawa.

He Owned/Operated the Sherman's Tap in Ottawa for over 35 years. Served in the US Army during Viet Nam War. He was a member of St. Francis Church and was a stamp and coin collector.

He is survived by his wife Debbie Sampson; two sons Chris Elias and Joshua Sampson one grandson Vincent Elias, a sister Sharon Kaplan.

Richard was preceded in death by his parent .

Pallbearers will be Military Honor Guard.
