Richard "Hairs" Dunn

Richard "Hairs" Dunn, 71, of Ottawa passed away Monday, December 15, 2014 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, December 20, 2014 at St. Patrick's Church with Father Tony Fevlo officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 am to 10:00 am Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Richard was born January 31, 1943 in Peoria, Illinois to John and Frances (Gunther) Dunn. He graduated from Marquette High School in 1962. He served in the Army Reserves for many years. He's been retired from LOF for 14 years. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, American Legion, and Knights of Columbus. He coached girls softball for many years at Marquette High School and was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed his two hour daily walks around Ottawa. He is survived by two sisters, Mary (Donald) Negro of Ladd and Marilyn (Henry) Spille of Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews; and many close friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Dennis Dunn; and one sister, Patricia Wilbur. There were also a brother and sister that died in infancy. Memorials may be directed to Marquette Academy.
