Richard Barra Jr.

Richard A. Barra Jr., 57, of Seneca passed away Monday, October 26, 2015 at Morris Hospital. Funeral Ceremony will be held 7:00 pm Friday, October 30, 2015 at Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm prior to services Friday at Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. Richard was born November 4, 1957 in Seneca, Illinois to Richard and Rosemary (Neimann) Barra. He served in the United States Army. Richard worked as a Mechanic for Talty in Morris. He was also a Captain for the Seneca Fire Department for many years. He was a member of Pheasants Forever, NRA, and the Marseilles Masonic Lodge. The past few summers he enjoyed spending time at Four Star Campground. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, and riding his Harley. He is survived by his father, Richard Barra Sr.; five children, Jenae (Ryan) Kennelly, Mallorie (Jesse) Weygand, Deandra (Donald) Wort, Jessica Barra, and Dillon Balk; nine grandchildren and one grand daughter on the way; his dog, Hank; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary; and one sister, Katherine Andrews. Memorials may be directed to his family.
