Richard Anderson

Richard P. Anderson, 63, of Ottawa passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

Memorial Mass will be held at 12:30 pm, Saturday, April 8 at St. Francis of Assisi Church with Rev. Augustin Kassa officiating. Visitation will be from 10am to noon, on Saturday, prior to the services, at Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Ricky was born July 5, 1953 in Ottawa to Richard Anderson and Eileen (Arnold) Pearson. He retired from Local 597, after 30 years as a pipe fitter. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Ricky loved to fish and go bowling; he was inducted into the Ottawa USBC bowling Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne (Chris) Faxon of Ottawa; two granddaughters, Olive and Ivy Faxon; one brother, Thomas (Cathi) Nixon of Ottawa; one sister, Suzanne (Mike) Sutfin of Ottawa; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Ronald "Pops" Pearson, who was a very important role-model for Ricky, treating him as one of his own children.

Honorary pallbearers will be Luke and Jeff Brue, Jake Nixon, Bryce Fanti, Chris Faxon, Jerry Gossett, Tom Nixon, and Mike Sutfin.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
