Richard J. Alvarado

Richard J. Alvarado passed away Thursday, November 15th, 2018 in Honolulu Hawaii at Queens Medical Center after fighting health complications.

Celebration of Life and potluck will be held at 3 pm, Friday, December 7, 2018 at the Naplate Village Hall, 2000 Ottawa Avenue, Ottawa, IL 61350. Ottawa Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

He was born June 9th, 1952 in Ottawa, Illinois to John Alvarado (10/31/1929-09/02/1976) and Colleen Alvarado (02/18/1935-02/25/2006). He is survived by his two daughters, Melissa and Amanda Alvarado, his son Christopher Alvarado and daughter in law Hannah Alvarado. Richard worked for Caterpillar Trucking Company in Aurora Illinois for over 25 years, retiring in 2004.

Richard’s friends and family will miss his wonderful sense of humor, laughter, and the ability to tell a good story. Richard was tenacious, outgoing, and comical; His ability to capture attention and entertain was unmatched. Richard was living in Ottawa up until 2017 when he moved to the Big Island of Hawaii to live out his life.

Memorials may be made in Richard’s name to his family.
