Raymond Voyles

Raymond E. Voyles, 85, of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024 at La Salle County Nursing Home.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September, 24, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Ottawa Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will follow at 7:00pm with Pastor Bill Clark officiating. Burial will be in the Ottawa Avenue Cemetery at 1:00pm on Wednesday, September 25.

Ray was born January 7, 1939, in Ottawa, IL, to Willis and May (Mading) Voyles. He retired from the Laborers union and also helped his nephew with a tree service. Ray was extremely handy and loved to tinker on various things. He was constantly helping his neighbors with their bikes, lawn mowers, or just about anything they needed. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and riding his bike. He loved to spend as much time as he could with his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his sister, Pauline (John) Miskell as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Mary;his three brothers. Richard, George, and Dwain Voyles; and his three sisters, Eileen (Harry) Clark, Juanita (Larry) Whalen, and Virginia Farrell.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.
