Raymond Anderson

Raymond A. "Andy" Anderson, 76, of Triumph passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 am Friday, January 23, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Pastor David E. Daniel officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral service. Raymond was born December 1, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to Oscar and Marie (Yandik) Anderson. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He married Judith Ann Saager on February 26, 1966 in Ottawa. He retired from Wedron Silica Sand after 25 years as a Welder and Millright. He was a lifelong member of the Mendota Moose and the Mendota Elks Club. Ray enjoyed tinkering in his workshop fixing all we broke. He enjoyed working in the yard and had a lifetime love of cars (oldies but goodies). He had a strong love for his family and especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Judith; two daughters, Dawn (Ed) Anderson-Donahue-Shonk of Triumph and Shelly (Scott) Anderson-Husband-Johnson of Mendota; six siblings, Gladys (Sam) DiMaggio of NV, Elenor (Warren) Swope of TN, Darlene (Otto) Kleckner of TN, Carol (Elmer) Stewart of IL, James (Virginia) Anderson of AZ, and Robert (Jerry) Anderson Sr. of TN; and four grandchildren, Cody Husband, Chase Johnson, Shayn (Dayne) Donahue, and Heidi (Clay) Shonk. He is preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings, Donald Yandik, Betty Jane Port, August "Gus" Anderson Sr., and Richard "Bummer" Anderson Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be Russel Kleckner, Raymond Fuchs, August Anderson Jr., Merle Soucie, Cody Husband, Shayn Donahue, Clay Jutila, Jeff Grady, Roy Ayers, Brad Carter, and Chase Johnson.
