Ray I. Hooper, 82, of Ottawa, Illinois passed away Monday, May 7, 2012 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa, Illinois. Cremation rites have been entrusted to the Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. Ray was born February 9, 1930 in Joliet, Illinois to Wendel and Margaret (Battisfore) Hooper. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion in Ottawa. He is survived by one sister, Florene (Bernard) Raibley of Seneca; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Gene Hooper.
